I am an imperfect minimalist.

If shopping was a professional sport, I definitely would have paid more attention in P.E. I have always been a mindless consumer and it was only when I got older that I realized how bad I really was.

Advertising isn't only found on billboards, magazines, tv commercials, and the back of cereal boxes. Ads are now vibrating in our very pockets, begging to be looked at on Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Youtube, and probably even MySpace. This only fuels the incessant need of the "buy to be happy" effect. A few years ago, I remember sitting on the floor in tears wishing my house would burn down so that I would lose all of my "stuff", and finally be free from the burden of it.

Minimal living can be hard, but it doesn't have to be. As cheesy as it may sound, I have become a devout believer in the phrase "less is more." Less of what? STUFF. More of what? Happiness, time, intimacy, family, TRAVEL, and over-all satisfaction.

I'm not perfect, and I am definitely not the poster-child for minimal living. God knows I love my Amazon Prime. But I am happy and I am trying. I am an imperfect minimalist.

Lets be mindful together. and live more. xoxo
